Ovation After Chilling Confrontation With Beto O’Rourke Supporter

August 31, 2018 Martin

Democrats often claim that “gun control” isn’t about taking guns away from Americans, bet Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, had a chilling exchange on Thursday when a liberal made it clear where they stand.

Speaking to voters at Moondoggy’s Pizza & Pub in Amarillo, Texas, Cruz was explaining the differences between himself and his challenger, Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke, on key issues.

“On the Second Amendment—” Cruz began, before being cut off by a gun rights supporter, who yelled, “Come and take it!”

In response, an apparent O’Rourke supporter, who had heckled Cruz several times during the townhall, shouted back: “Oh, we will!”

The room then gave Cruz a standing ovation after the chilling confrontation that last nearly 30 seconds. The O’Rourke supporter made it clear that many Democrats would love nothing more than to try to take guns away from Americans.

After the fired up crowd settled down, Cruz made the most of the comment and explained to voters how important it was to keep Texas Red in November’s midterm election.

“The best exchange of the entire election: on the Second Amendment, ‘Come and take it,’ and the Beto O’Rourke supporter screams, ‘Oh, we will.’ … The question is, is Texas gonna stand up and defend our freedom?”

“And just to be clear that this young man is accurately representing Congressman O’Rourke’s position, Congressman O’Rourke has tweeted out to the world how proud he is that he has an “F” rating from the NRA. Not a “D-minus,” not a “D,” but an “F.” And he’s campaigning on it; that’s a major reason he says you should vote for him, is that he has an “F” rating from the NRA.”

“I’ll tell ya, I retweeted it, because elections are about choices. If you want a big government, gun-grabbing liberal, well, Democrats are giving you one.”

Watch below:

Democrats have made it clear that they not only plan to launch at least 52 investigations into Trump if they retake the House of Representatives, they are apparently going to do everything imagine to pass gun control and, perhaps, push measures that could result in taking guns away from people.
